The Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme (CGQP)
The Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme (CGQP) is the benchmark qualification for chartered governance professionals. It builds a unique breadth of technical skills that equip you for a varied career at board level.
Chartered Governance Professionals hold a range of positions such as Company Secretary, Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance etc. What unites all of the positions are the knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements, understanding of corporate strategy and structures, and the skills to support and advise the directors to make the right decisions.
The CGQP will enable you with the technical know-how, critical skills and validation of your professional knowledge.
CGQP Modules:
Part 1
- Corporate Law (CLAW)
- Corporate Compliance and Administration (CCA)
- Corporate Governance (CG)
- Interpreting Financial and Accounting Information (IFAI)
Part 2
Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- *Singapore Taxation (STAX)
Singapore Taxation is a non-examinable mandatory module which will be conducted through of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training.
Admission Criteria
- SAICSA Executive Diploma in Corporate Administration (EDCA); or
- ACM Specialist Diploma in Corporate Administration (SDCA); or
- Degree or Master from Accredited Universities; or
- Professional Qualification or Membership Certificate from Chartered Accountancy Professional Bodies.


There are two (2) intakes per calendar year – January and July.

ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS/POLICIES/TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Shelf Life
Students are granted a student shelf life of three (3) years (i.e.6 continuous examination diets) to complete the programme.
Students, who are unable to complete the examination on the third (3rd) year, have to submit an application for extension of studentship.
- The application for extension of studentship has to be submitted to the Students Admission Department at least six (6) months before the end of the studentship.
- All applications for an extension will be consider on a case-by-case basis.
- Upon the approval, students have to pay renewal fee of *$130.00 (subject to prevailing GST).
- Studentship will be withdrawn for students who have failed to apply for an extension within the stipulated timeline.
Student Renewal fee
Students have to maintain their studentship by registration for the examinations. If a student is unable to write the examination for an examination diet, he/she will have to pay the studentship renewal fee at *$130.00 (subject to prevailing GST) for each examination diet which he/she failed to attempt.
*Please note that all fees are subject to review on an annual basis.
This is to maintain your studentship and to enable you to write the next examination diet.
Withdrawal
- A student may withdraw from an examination by formally writing to the Students Admission Department via email exam@cgisingapore.org.sg.
- In the event, that a student has withdrawn from an examination, he/she will not be eligible to pay the resit fee for the same module in next and subsequent examinations.
- There will be no withdrawal after the registration closing date.
Refund
If a student withdraws from the examination before the registration closing date, the amount paid by the student will be refunded in full and subject to a deduction of an administrative fee of *$50.00 (subject to prevailing GST).
