• Why Should I be a member of CSIS?

CSIS members are recognised under the companies Act (Cap 50) and Business Trust Act (Cap 31A) to be appointed as company secretaries in public companies in Singapore. Further, CSIS carries in itself a reputation of competence in corporate administration, compliance and governance.

•  How do I be a member of CSIS? 

• Who qualifies to join the CSIS Practising Certificate Scheme?

CSIS Members (Associates and Fellows) with at least three years of continuous experience doing performing corporate secretarial duties. The company of public practice also has to have a professional indemnity insurance cover of at least SG$500,000. For more detailed information on the Scheme, please refer to the Practising Certificate Scheme regulations.

Only CSIS members in the Practising Certificate Scheme are able to call themselves “Practising Chartered Secretaries”.

• How do I apply for the CSIS Practising Certificate Scheme?

Please email to us at members@csis.org.sg for the application form, fill it in, and submit the original application form to the Secretariat.

Deadline for submission the application for the Practising Certificate Scheme is as follows:

All application forms have to submitted to the Secretariat in its original hardcopy format.

• What are the benefits of joining the CSIS Practising Certificate Scheme?

• Do i need to be a CSIS member in order to attend CSIS Events or Training Courses?
