Members of CSIS are admitted via membership of the CGI Singapore Division.
All members of CGI Singapore Division are admitted via examination through the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme (CGQP). More information on the CGQP can be found at https://csis.org.sg/cgi-sg/.
There are 2 grades of membership: Associate and Fellow. Associates are applicable to all Associates of CGI Singapore Division; Fellows require a higher level of experience and responsibility within the organisation, and applies to all Fellows of CGI Singapore Division.
All applications for election to membership of the CGI Singapore Division are approved by the Committee for Singapore (CFS) Membership Committee. Who are Associates?
Associates are individuals who are professionally qualified, working in various fields ranging from corporate service providers to administration to education.
FELLOWSHIP
Who are Fellows?
Fellows are individuals who have demonstrated expertise in their fields, accumulated from many years of experience, with exemplary conduct commended by many.
Statutory Recognition
Members of CSIS are able to consider themselves as “Chartered Secretaries”.
Chartered Secretaries are recognised in the following legislations:
- Members of prescribed bodies under Section 89 Requirement of secretary of the Companies Regulations.;
- The definition of “qualified individual” as set out in section 28A of the ACRA Act; and
- Section 7 of Business Trust Act (Chapter 31)
